You like the idea or signing for Raiders’ star?

Las month, ESPN reported that Los Angeles Chargers star pass-rusher Khalil Mack has decided to return in 2025 for his 12th NFL season.

Mack had been undecided. But, now that Mack is definitely returning, it could make some folks interested in these parts. Could Mack return to his NFL roots?

Mack, who turns 34 next month, is a free agent this year. He has never been a free agent before in his career.

So, the Las Vegas Raiders have their first shot to bring him back. The Raiders, of course, drafted Mack with the No. 5 overall draft pick in 2014. He instantly became a star and he was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.

However, with new coach Jon Gruden in the fold in 2018, Mack sat out the offseason program and training camp in a contract dispute that got ugly and resulted in his shockingly being traded to the Chicago Bears a week before the season started.

Gruden is long gone, so perhaps Mack, whose been a Raider killer as an opponent, would be open to returning to the Silver and Black if he hits free agency. The Raiders surely could use him.

The current thought is Mack is happy with the Chargers, but he may be tempted to test the open market for the first time. If he does, what do you think?
