Assessing New York Giants’ 2025 Salary Cap Health | SI.com
One player who could be in line for a contract extension is guard/tackle Jermaine Eluemunor, who is in the final year of the two-year deal he signed last off-season. Eluemunor currently counts for $9.191 million against the cap, of which $5.75 million is his 2025 base salary. If he were open to an extension, the Giants could lower his base salary to $1.255 million, which is the minimum base for a veteran with at least seven years of accrued experience (Eluemunor is entering his ninth NFL season), tack on two more years, with the second one being a voidable year.

5 big free agents Giants could target this offseason | SNY.tv
D.J. Reed, CB Reed is among the more underrated cornerbacks in the NFL. He really blossomed during his three years with the Jets, cementing himself as a legitimate outside corner who flashed shutdown capabilities. More important, though, is Reed’s leadership. He played a major role in acclimating All-Pro corner Sauce Gardner to the league.
Reed would be valuable to the Giants as they try to salvage Deonte Banks’ career. He also finished the last three seasons with ProFootballFocus grades of 72.5, 77.9, and 70.7.

New York Giants: The prognosis at quarterback. The Giants could easily be shut out from both Ward and Sanders, especially given that the Titans and Browns each need quarterbacks. That could encourage New York to trade back for someone like Kyle McCord or Jaxson Dart, or simply bypass the position in the draft’s early rounds altogether. General manager Joe Schoen must account for that possibility in how he handles this offseason, which could be a quarterback carousel.
Could the Giants pursue a more solid stopgap option like Wilson, Rodgers or Fields instead of drafting one at No. 3? Could vying for Sam Darnold, Derek Carr or even Matthew Stafford be on the table? Schoen has myriad ways to try to fix his quarterback quandary, and even if taking one at No. 3 is the most logical outcome, it’s far from a guarantee.

NFL Draft 2025: Why Shedeur Sanders over Cam Ward isn’t a clear-cut choice for Giants | NJ.com
The reality is, no one can say for sure that Sanders is a better prospect than Ward. Some draft analysts think he is. Others are torn. Overall, this is not a great quarterback draft class. There is no clear-cut, can’t-miss No. 1 guy. Sanders and Ward are the top two quarterback prospects. That much seems clear. But which of the two will be better? It’s impossible to say right now.
Sanders gets more hype than Ward — and understandably so. Yet maybe the Giants would be just fine with Ward instead of Sanders.
2025 NFL Draft: Player comparisons for PFF’s top-20 prospects | PFF
17. Cam Ward – Ben Roethlisberger. Ward is an unorthodox gunslinger, and the NFL comparison my mind keeps going back to is Ben Roethlisberger. Both had some scoot with their escapability, but you wouldn’t exactly call them mobile. Both were also fearless in pushing the ball deep down the field. It’s a high-end comparison, but I believe Ward sees the game like Big Ben did.
