Early projection isn’t kind to New York Giants

Pro Football Network is expecting another awful season for the Giants

The work of re-constructing NFL rosters for the 2025 season has not yet begun. That, though, is not stopping media outlets from releasing early power rankings or projecting what teams might or might not accomplish in the upcoming season.

Pro Football Network is out with its early 2025 projections, and if you are a New York Giants fan you might want to stop reading. You know that what is coming isn’t kind. Here it is:

Projected Win-Loss Record: 4.5-12.5
Playoff Probability: 0.3%
Divisional Probability: 0.2%
Super Bowl Probability: 0.1%

Yikes!! Well, off a 3-14 season and with a 9-25 mark over the last two years, no one should expect anything else in terms of 2025 forecasts for the SchoenDabolls.

Here is what PFN said about the 2025 Giants:

The New York Giants are in a bit of a mess in 2025. They have no quarterback plan in place, their offensive line was a bottom-six unit, and their defense ranked 20th last year. The offensive line and quarterback are the biggest needs by some distance. They really need to fix both, but this year, they have to make strides at one of those, or else this coaching staff could be in trouble.

It is hard to envision the Giants as playoff contenders in 2025. They have too many needs to fix in one offseason, and no obvious franchise-changing quarterback is available in free agency, the draft, or by trade to jumpstart their rebuild. This year needs to be about development, but that is a tough sell with pressure already mounting for some success from this coaching staff.

It is hard to argue with that. The Giants, though, have the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and more than $40 million in cap space to work with. So, there are avenues they can use to improve.

Before we consider the Giants doomed to another miserable year and an inevitable restart of the rebuild under a different coaching staff let’s see what the offseason brings.
