National reactions: Bills’ ‘Slick Rick’ goes viral across NFL thanks to Josh Allen
The legend of “Rick Slick” took off in western New York… and now well beyond it.
Ironically enough, his name is not even Rick.
Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen took home the top individual honor at the NFL Honors ceremony, the 2024 NFL MVP. As is tradition at award shows, Allen gave a speech after winning.
Tossed into it was a mention of “Slick Rick.” The QB was thanking those around him in Buffalo for helping along the way and beyond teammates, the staffer for the Bills was mentioned.
After Allen’s speech, Roderick Morrow–his real name–was interviewed.
Morrow had a really touching conversation, mentioning how he wanted to cry when he heard his nickname.
Allen’s down-to-earth personality shined by mentioning him. The interview Morrow had ended up going viral and the entire NFL world from media to former players loved it.
