Super Bowl 2025: Fans predict prop bets, point total, spread, and more
Super Bowl LIX is here, bringing with it football, food, and betting. How do the fans think the game, and the prop bets, will shake out? We take a look.

The 2024 NFL season is coming to a close with tonight’s 2025 Super Bowl LIX contest between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. A rematch of 2022-2023’s Super Bowl LVII, the game could be the crowning of the Chiefs for an unprecedented third-straight time, or we could see the Eagles crowned for the second time in their franchise’s history. Whatever the case, we are going to be seeing it.
The Super Bowl is the most-watched event annually in the United States and rivals some of the most significant events globally. With so many people watching, there is always a considerable betting contingent on the game, with people predicting the winners, the spread, and so very much more. Prop bets can range from the color of the Gatorade poured on the winning coach after the game (yellow/lime or green set as the favorite) to the length of time of the National Anthem before the game, from which song will be sung first during the halftime show to which team will analyst and former Eagles center Jason Kelce, the brother of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, represent during the game?
This year, we also have the possibility of Travis Kelce asking singer Taylor Swift to marry him after the game.
Our SB Nation Reacts poll asked fans to vote on several prop bets and game odds brought to us by FanDuel Sportsbook. What do the fans think will happen in this game? Time to break it down.
Who will cover?

The FanDuel Sportsbook line, as of Sunday morning, has the Chiefs just barely favored in the game, giving the Eagles 1.5 points. What do the fans think of that line? It is pretty evenly split, though the Eagles pick up most of the votes, coming in with 51 percent of the fans expecting them to cover. The Chiefs pick up 49 percent of the vote.
With the 51-49 split, fans seem to believe this game is a toss-up. What do you think of the line? Will the Chiefs make up the 1.5-point deficit, winning by at least two points? Will the Eagles keep the game within a point if they do not outright win it?
Looking back on the teams’ meeting in Super Bowl LVIII in February 2023, the Chiefs beat the Eagles 38-35. That game was close. Do you think this one follows suit?
Will this game go over or under the point total?
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/25866926/_National_6_20625.png)
FanDuel Sportsbook has the point total for tonight’s game at 48.5 points. What do the fans think of that line? They seem to believe that is not enough scoring for this game. The over – a combined point total for both teams exceeding 48.5 points – won in our survey with 56 percent of the fans responding for the high-scoring game. The under picked up 44 percent of the vote.
Two years ago, the teams combined for 73 points. When they met in the regular season during the 2023 season, they combined for 38 points (Eagles won 21-17). During this year’s regular season, Philadelphia averaged 27.2 points per game, with the Chiefs averaging 22.6 points, giving us a combined 49.8 average point total, just ahead of the line for this game. During the playoffs, the Eagles have the highest average score with 35.0 points, while the Chiefs have averaged 27.5 points. The 62.5 points would easily surpass tonight’s line.
How long will the National Anthem last?
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/25866939/_National_7_20625.png)
Jon Batiste will sing the Star Spangled Banner before kickoff tonight. How long will it take him to sing it? One of the most popular prop bets every year, the line is set at 120.5 seconds – essentially setting the line at precisely two minutes, with the half-second thrown on to make a push unlikely.
Looking back at Batiste playing the National Anthem at the NBA All-Star Game in 2017, he came in at about 2:08. He has said he was not going to have the final version of this year’s Star Spangled Banner until sometime this past week, but he has hit the over on the song before.
According to our fan vote, that would not be the best bet: 55 percent of the responses came in for the under, while 45 percent expected the over.
What food do you need for the Super Bowl?
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/25866944/_National_2_20625.png)
Okay, this one is not technically a prop bet, but we wanted to know what food you need for a Super Bowl party. The results might be closer than you expected. Chicken wings were the top choice, which is probably not surprising; 35 percent of the fan responses selected wings as their must-have food. However, it was not a dominating win as chips and dip came in just behind at 33 percent of the responses.
Pizza was third with 21 percent of the vote, followed by nachos (6 percent) and sandwiches (5 percent).
What food are you expecting to see if you go to a Super Bowl party? Are wings a must-have, or do you go with something not on the board as the must-have food?
Halftime prop bets
Back to the prop bets, we have several halftime-related predictions lined up. Kendrick Lamar headlines the halftime show this year, with SZA as an announced guest. How will the show begin? According to the survey, fans expect “Not Like Us” to be the opening song for the show.

The halftime show can be interesting each year as the performers decide whether they try to jam in as many songs as possible with short montage versions or stick to playing full versions of a few songs. We asked which option Lamar would likely use this year, with fans thinking he would stick to 10 or fewer songs during his performance.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/25866949/_National_9_20625.png)
According to the fan vote, one of those songs will likely be a diss track targeting Drake. The two performers had a very public feud in 2024, with Lamar releasing several tracks focused on Drake. There is a possibility the feud re-ignites on the Super Bowl stage, but fans seem to think one track makes the most sense.

Which team will Jason Kelce represent?
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/25866957/_National_11_20625.png)
Jason Kelce is an Eagles legend, playing 13 seasons at center for the team. He is also the brother of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Working as an analyst for the game, which team will he represent during the broadcast? Will he wear an Eagles logo? Will he support his brother by wearing a Chiefs logo? Will he stay neutral?
The fans think he will stick with his team, representing the Eagles with their logo somewhere. If he does not show off his Eagles love, they expect him to be neutral. Only eight percent of the fans think he will switch over to supporting the Chiefs in this game.
Who will win Super Bowl LIX MVP?
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/25866965/_National_1_20625.png)
Who will prove the be the top player in tonight’s game? According to our fans, it is likely going to be Eagles running back Saquon Barkley. The former New York Giants running back, who moved over the Eagles this year, was named the Offensive Player of the Year earlier this week and, at least according to the fan vote, is set to be named the best player in the Super Bowl this year as well.
The winner of the MVP award is typically a member of the winning team, which would likely mean an Eagles championship if Barkley were to be named MVP. If the Chiefs were to win, quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the most likely to win the MVP award, according to the fan vote, selecting him as the second most-likely player to be named the game’s top player.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Barkley is +280 to be named MVP, while Mahomes is +110.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (+350), Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (+1800), Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy (+3100), and Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown all also received votes.
Will Travis Kelce propose to Taylor Swift?
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/25866967/_National_8_20625.png)
Immediately after the game, as the confetti is falling and the players, coaches, executives, and family members are all celebrating on the field, there may be one interaction to watch. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and musical megastar Taylor Swift could take centerstage. If the Chiefs win, could Kelce propose to Swift on the field?
Swift has been a regular with Kecle’s family at Chiefs games all season, fitting in spectating while she concluded her Eras Tour. She is expected to be at the game tonight, and it could set up for a magical moment – though our fan vote does not expect it to happen.
A little over three-fourths of the fans think there is no chance Kelce pops the question to Swift after the game.
