Super Bowl LIX is FINALLY HERE.
The long wait is over.
The Philadelphia Eagles are facing the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII. The Birds will be looking for a win this time around.
It won’t be easy; Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are head to beat. It’s no accident that they’ve won two Super Bowls in a row and are aiming for an unprecedented threepeat.
But the Eagles are pretty good at football, too. Saquon Barkley can’t be stopped and Philly has the best defense in the NFL.
The big game should be a great one.

FIRST QUARTER
- The Chiefs won the coin toss and elected to defer. Birds’ ball first. The Eagles began at their own 30-yard line. The first play was a Saquon Barkley carry (what else?) for four yards. Jalen Hurts’ first pass of the game was a completion to DeVonta Smith on a comeback for a first down. Facing 3rd-and-11 after Barkley was tackled for a loss on a short catch, Hurts ran for nine yards. Facing 4th-and-2 Nick Sirianni correctly kept the offense on the field … and Hurts dropped a pass in the bucket to A.J. Brown! But there was a flag for the weakest offensive pass interference flag of all time. Lol, ref show already?! The Eagles then punted from 4th-and-12 at the 50-yard line.

- The Chiefs took over at their own 12-yard line. Patrick Mahomes’ first pass was quickly completed for a first down. Facing 3rd-and-9 after Travis Kelce dropped a pass, Patrick Mahomes initially got away from pressure and got a throw off … that could’ve been picked off by Isaiah Rodgers but wasn’t caught. Good job by Vic Fangio’s defense to force the early three-and-out.
