Finding the next Corey Clement.

Today’s Super Bowl Question of the Day here at Bleeding Green Nation is inspired by something I was asked in my Q&A exchange with Arrowhead Pride.

Their question for me was: “Who is an under the radar Eagle on both offense and on defense who have played a big part in the Eagles returning to the Super Bowl?

I’m more than happy to hear your answers for both sides of the ball but I’m going to simplify it to:

Which under-the-radar Eagles player will have a big game against the Chiefs?

My answer for AP:

DEFENSE: Reed Blankenship. He deserves more credit than he gets. Blankenship had a tough time with Zach Ertz one-on-one in the NFC Championship Game but it’s hardly like he’s been a liability in coverage all season long; he’s allowed just a 72.5 passer rating when targeted. Blankenship set a career high in interceptions with four. Two of those were game-sealing picks within the first three weeks of the season. Another one of those interceptions would’ve been a game-sealing play against the Washington Commanders in Week 16 had DeVonta Smith not dropped a third down reception that could’ve allowed the Eagles to run the clock out. I wouldn’t be surprised if Blankenship is involved in a takeaway on Sunday.

The Eagles have a bunch of household names on their roster, so, the options are somewhat limited.

I was thinking about going with Nolan Smith since I like his matchup against Jawaan Taylor … but he’s not exactly flying under the radar with four sacks in three playoff games.

Josh Sweat’s been quiet with just one sack in his last eight games. With free agency looming, he has every reason to potentially finish his Eagles career on a high note.

Could this be the Jahan Dotson breakout performance?! Probably not.
