Reactions from around the socials regarding the HOF snubbing Eli
New York Giants legend and two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning will not be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
To quote the Giants:
— New York Giants (@Giants) February 7, 2025
It came, or rather didn’t come, on a night when Saquon Barkley won “Offensive Player Of the Year” and Jayden Daniels won both “Offensive Rookie Of the Year” and “Moment Of The Year. A night when the Offensive Rookie Of The Year award was presented by Odell Beckham Jr., a player who was put in position to win his own award by Eli.
If the Hall Of Fame is intended to tell the story of the NFL, then leaving Eli Manning out is leaving pages blank. After all, only one of the Modern Era players even competed in a Super Bowl (Jared Allen, after he was traded to the Carolina Panthers), and none of them have rings from The Big Game.
The reaction after the announcement reflects that. Save a plethora of Eagles, or Patriots, centric accounts taking the opportunity to dunk on Eli and the Giants, there was a fair amount of shock at Eli being left off.

Eli Manning not getting into The HOF on the 1st ballot doesn’t bother me. Jared Allen getting in does. As Bill Parcells once said “If they can’t write the story of The NFL without mentioning you, you’re a Hall Of Famer.” I promise you I can write the story of The NFL & not mention Jared Allen.
And it’s worth noting that Eli Manning is now the only eligible multi-time Super Bowl MVP who isn’t in the Hall of Fame.
2X SB MVPs
Tom Brady HOF
Pat Mahomes Soon to be HOF
Bart Starr HOF
Joe Montana HOF
Terry Bradshaw HOF
Eli Manning…………Thats the list…….

Eli Manning has more Super Bowl MVPs than this year’s entire class combined. The Pro Football Hall of Fame is an absolute joke

Eli Manning not making the Hall of Fame this year is a JOKE!

Eli Manning vs. John Elway:
“Ew, Eli’s just a stat compiler. Doesn’t belong in the Hall of Fame,” they say.
“Elway is one of the greatest in NFL history,” they say.
Touchdown to int:
Eli: 366 td, 244 int
Elway: 300 td, 226 int (Eli better)Passer Rating:

Here’s Eli Manning stacked against Hall of Fame quarterbacks John Elway and Joe Namath. Now tell me again why Eli isn’t in the Hall of Fame right now.
Sterling Sharpe: 7 seasons, 109th all time in receiving yards, 74th in TD’s, no Super Bowls.
Eric Allen: 14 seasons, 21st all time in INT’s, 197th in tackles, no Super Bowls.
Eli Manning: 16 seasons, 11th all time passing yards and TD’s, 2x Super Bowl MVP#NFL #NFLHonors

Unfortunately, Eli might now have to wait a while for the powers that be to deign him worthy of his place in NFL history.
Looking down the road, Eli Manning might get in, but it could take a LONG time.
Brees and Rivers are eligible in 2026.
Then Big Ben in 2027.
Then Tom Brady in 2028. And even Matt Ryan in 2028 will make comparisons difficult for Eli.Rodgers and Stafford soon after that.
Yikes
