Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 2/6/25
This is all rumors and speculation, but apparently Malik Nabers of the New York Giants is getting the people going by seemingly suggesting that he knows something about the Los Angeles Rams, Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford. Nabers recently sent out some tweets that you can see below, and who knows what they indicate?

Maybe Nabers wants to join the Rams and play with Stafford?

Maybe there is nothing here to see. This is a Random Ramsdom, so I am just throwing out some news that I have recently seen. I don’t know what it means, but feel free to wonder, ponder and comment below!
It’s been another wild week in the wild world of sports, and it’s only Thursday! Please comment on whatever you want. Thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great day!
Fans think Malik Nabers’ cryptic tweets are related to Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp (ramswire)
“Nabers’ last two posts on X (formerly Twitter) are cryptic and seem at least semi-related to the Rams. The first post was just the number 9 and 10 with a ram-looking emoji and an eye emoji.
He then followed it up 19 hours later with just the number 9 and that same ram emoji. Of course, Stafford wears No. 9 and Kupp wears No. 10, and neither player’s future in Los Angeles is certain. In fact, we already know the Rams plan to move on from Kupp via trade, so he could be on a new team soon.”
LA Rams set sights on veteran cornerback to lock down rival opponents (sportingnews.com)
“The Los Angeles Rams are reportedly considering a significant addition to their defense by targeting veteran cornerback Rasul Douglas in the upcoming free agency. Douglas, who spent the 2024 season with the Buffalo Bills, recorded 58 total tackles (43 solo), five passes defended, and one forced fumble over 15 regular-season games.
The Rams’ secondary struggled last season, often rotating aging veterans without finding a consistent solution. Bringing in Douglas could provide the stability they’ve been lacking. His reliability and ability to stay on the field make him an attractive option for Los Angeles.”

Rams Could Make Cooper Kupp Trade Easier for Steelers (steelersnow)
“Los Angeles Rams All-Pro wide receiver Cooper Kupp is on the trade block, and the Pittsburgh Steelers have been tabbed as favorites to land the Super Bowl LVI MVP and 2021 NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
If a trade does come to fruition, the Rams could make life easier for the Steelers by eating some of his salary cap. NFL insider Ian Rapoport thinks that’s a realistic scenario for L.A. if they want to deal Kupp.”
G’Day, Melbourne! See ya in 2026.

Oddsmakers Reveal Broncos’ Chances at Trading for Rams WR Cooper Kupp (si.com)
“Recently placed on the trading block by the Rams, could Sean Payton and the Broncos be interested in acquiring the nine-year veteran this offseason via trade? According to DraftKings, the Broncos are tied for the third-best odds to acquire the former Offensive Player of the Year and receiver triple crown winner.
Sitting at +600 odds and tied with the Washington Commanders, New England Patriots, and Los Angeles Chargers, and only behind the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals at +500, the Broncos are an obvious front-runner for obtaining Kupp.”

Random Ramsdom Fandom: Should the Rams sign a Free Agent WR and if so, which one? (By RamsRoll on Feb 4, 2025)
“It is a sad day in Rams’ land. Cooper Kupp will not be with Rams next year. We all knew this was coming. It is painfully obvious that injuries have taken their toll and at 32 years old it is time for the Rams to move on. Rock sheds a tear.
One option, of course, is to draft 1 or 2 Wide Receivers. Another option is to target a Free Agent Wide Receiver and also draft a WR. In this FanPost I will attempt to list and give you the opportunity to consider which FA WR makes the most sense and is the best fit for the Rams. What do you think? Should the Rams target a FA WR this year? If so, which one? How much do you think he will cost? Can the Rams afford him?
First, is 26 year old Cincy WR Tee Higgins. Higgins is biggest name on the list and seems to be on almost everyone’s Christmas list. He will likely cost 25 mil per year.
Second, is 29 year old TB WR Chris Godwin. His market value should be in the 22 mil per year neighborhood.
Third, is 30 year old Bills WR Amari Cooper. He should cost around 14 mil per year.
Fourth, is 31 year old Texans WR Steffon Diggs. Diggs pouts when he is not targeted & may not be a good fit with the Rams. He should cost approx 13 mil per year.
Fifth, is 28 year old KC WR Marquise Brown. He should cost approx 8 mil per year.
As always thank you so much for your commentary in this FanPost. Your Friend ROCK”
Should the Rams try to trade down from 1st rd #26 this year? (By RamsRoll on Feb 3, 2025)
“Everyone knows that the Rams traded this year’s 2nd rd pick (#58) to Carolina last year to move up to #39 to select Braden Fiske last year. Now the Rams find themselves facing the prospect of waiting a long time between pick #26 and pick #90 this year before they can pick another player at #90. In the meantime while they are waiting many very good players will fly off the board between pick #26 and pick #90.
Is there a possible solution for this problem? Yes there is. The Rams will have to find a willing trade partner who wants to move up to #26 to pick a player that, that team wants/covets so the Rams can trade back and receive in return picks that will close the gap for them.
Are there any possibilities. Yes. Here are some hypothetical trade scenarios for the Rams to consider. First, Rams trade #1.26 & 3.90 to Bills for #1.30 & 2.62. Second, Rams trade #1.26 to Bills for #2.56, 2.62 & 4.108. In the following hypothetical trades the Rams would get a third (they have two 3rds now) 3rd rd pick & they could then package 2 of their 3rds to move back up into the 2nd rd. Third, Rams trade 1.26, 6.192 & 6.204 to Browns for 2.33, 3.94 & 4.103. Fourth, Rams trade 1.26 & 6.192 to Jags for 2.36, 3.88 & 4.106. Fifth, Rams trade 1.26 & 6.192 to Saints for 2.40, 3.71 & 4.130. Sixth, Rams trade 1.26 to Raiders for 2.37 & 3.73.
Do you favor any particular hypothetical trade scenario over the others? If so, which one? Why? Feel free to suggest other ideas in a comment in this FanPost. Or would you prefer that the Rams simply stand pat and pick BPA at #26? Who would you love to pick at 26 if he is there and why?
Feel free to post any mock draft you wish in the comments using the trade down formula you think is best for the Rams. Here is a link for NFLMockDraftDataBase. NFLMockDraftDataBase
