Thursday’s news and updates.

The Philadelphia Eagles issued their second official injury report of the week leading up to Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Three players were listed under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: DeVonta Smith, Brandon Graham, and Nick Gates.

The Eagles seem to be managing DeVonta’s workload to get him to Sunday. He’s been dealing with a hamstring injury.

Graham was limited in practice once again. He continues to remain optimistic about his chances of playing.

Gates is a new addition to the injury report. This conveniently timed development could allow the Eagles to put Gates on IR to open up a roster spot for activating Graham.

Note that the Eagles have until 4:00 PM Eastern on Saturday to make any roster moves ahead of the Super Bowl.

Eight players were listed under FULL PARTICIPATION: Jalen Carter, Kenny Gainwell, Zack Baun, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Dallas Goedert, Britain Covey, and C.J. Uzomah.

Despite missing media availability for the second straight day, Carter was upgraded to full participation after being limited on Wednesday due to “illness.” Apparently, there’s a sickness going around the team.

Gainwell fully participated in practice for the first time since suffering a concussion in the NFC Championship Game. The Eagles’ No. 2 running back is on track to play this weekend.

Baun, Dickerson, Jurgens, and Goedert were all full go again. They’re ready to suit up.

Covey and Uzomah continue to fully participate in practice but it remains to be seen if the Eagles will activate them from IR ahead of Sunday’s game.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS INJURY REPORT (THURSDAY)

The Chiefs’ Thursday injury report is identical to their Wednesday injury report … except for one change: punter Matt Araiza is dealing with an illness. He was listed as a full participant, though, so he doesn’t appear to be in danger of missing the big game.
