The Bengals pass rusher showed some serious love for Who Dey nation on the Pat McAfee Show.
The Cincinnati Bengals haven’t made a firm commitment to giving star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson a new deal.
However, that hasn’t changed the NFL sack leader’s strong feelings for the city of Cincinnati.
Hendrickson recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and made it clear that he does not want to become a distraction for the team. That’s why he’s hoping to resolve his contract in the offseason. But if it doesn’t work out, he’ll still be rooting for the team’s long-term success.
“Inevitably, the goal is to win a Super Bowl for Cincinnati. What that looks like that season, if it’s something that we can agree on in terms, that would be great. Ideally, my wife and I would love to stay in Cincinnati. If it’s something that helps the Bengals win a Super Bowl, if they get picks or anything like that, I want to help win a Super Bowl for Cincinnati if I’m there or not.”
McAfee then shared Duke Tobin’s statement about Hendrickson’s contract situation. Hendrickson said he would’ve preferred to have heard about it differently (his father texted him the tweet).
But the defensive end reiterated, “Whatever happens, I wanna win a Super Bowl for Cincinnati.”
