Giants’ Multistep Plan to Crush the Off-season Roster Building Process | SI.com
A bigger problem with Daboll’s taking on the play calling is that the defense and special teams struggled as well, to the point where it’s fair to wonder if he hadn’t been so locked in every week to calling plays, might he have been able to spend more of his time with them, particularly on game day.
If Mike Kafka is hired for the Saints’ head coaching job, Daboll could hire Ken Dorsey, who was with him in Buffalo, to call the plays or promote Shea Tierney, who’s had some on-the-job training calling plays for the role. But if Kafka returns, then there should be no shame or hesitation in giving him back the play-calling duties, especially considering the Giants had their best season in the three-year Daboll regime in 2022 with Kafka calling the play and having consistent quarterback play.

Giants 2024 rookie recap: How good was GM Joe Schoen’s third draft class? | The Athletic
While Schoen’s previous two draft classes haven’t fared nearly as well, it’s true the six members of this year’s class, along with an undrafted free agent, made significant contributions. All but one of the draftees played more than 50% of the snaps on their respective side of the ball. The star of the class was, predictably, wide receiver Malik Nabers, the No. 6 pick who shattered records and looks like a superstar-in-the-making.

If the Giants can give Nabers a quarterback, improve the roster and provide constructive structure for this impressive young talent, he clearly has the shine to help New York thrive once again in the prime time spotlight.

NY Giants: 5 wide receiver prospects to target in 2025 NFL Draft | The Record
Malik Nabers needed a quarterback in his junior year at Comeaux High School. So he convinced Tre Harris to stay at the position. The two friends were playmakers together. Could they be teammates again with the Giants, as Harris (6-3, 210) ultimately went back to WR and became a weapon for Ole Miss? Harris has solid run-after-catch potential and can play all over the field. That versatility appeals to Big Blue as a Day 2 pick with considerable upside.
2025 NFL Draft: Best Team Fits for Top QBs After Offseason Coaching Cycle | Bleacher Report
From a fit standpoint, however, Ward would be a better fit for the New York Giants. As a passer, Ward should be able to open up Brian Daboll’s offense in a way that Daniel Jones rarely did—and he may remind Daboll of Josh Allen, whom he previously coached as the Buffalo Bills‘ offensive coordinator.
There’s a schematic fit, meaning Ward could benefit by sliding a few spots and landing with the Giants at No. 3 overall. New York would also benefit greatly from this scenario, as Ward appears to be the most pro-ready quarterback in this class.
One offseason move for each NFC team: Seahawks should extend Geno Smith | NFL.com
Double-dip at quarterback. Following Minnesota’s 2024 model, New York must sign a veteran who can start—i.e., Sam Darnold, Russell Wilson—then back that up with a rookie. Every year, quarterbacks are pushed higher and higher into the top 10 as the draft process continues. If Ward and Sanders are off the board by No. 3, it could put Joe Schoen in a tough spot: Reach for someone like Mississippi’s Jaxson Dart or pray a developmental QB falls to the second round? If the Titans and/or Browns are willing to deal, it’s probably worth it for the G-Men to jump up a spot or two to ensure they get a QB.
