New York Giants news for Saturday

Good morning New York Giants fans!

Other Giant observations

What I’m hearing: NFL insiders skeptical there’s a franchise-caliber QB available in draft | The Athletic

A couple of executives are highly skeptical of the class, though, believed it’s much too dicey to take a QB in the top five this year, especially with Texas’ Arch Manning and a host of other promising prospects eligible for the 2026 class.

“If the Giants select (the wrong QB), it could set the franchise back years,” one of those executives said.

Deion Sanders would become Giants HC candidate if team drafts Shedeur Sanders | New York Daily News

Pat Leonard believes Brian Daboll is on borrowed time entering his fourth Giants season, with John Mara asking him to give up offensive play-calling while owner John Mara was simultaneously praising GM Joe Schoen’s process coming off a 3-14 season.

Shedeur Sanders drops Giant hint about playing Cowboys ‘very soon’ | USAToday.com

Sanders said something interesting in an interview with Jane Slater of the NFL Network that he might be playing at the stadium as an opposing player.

“Being in this stadium is definitely fun,” Sanders said, via 247Sports. “I know I’ll play here very soon against the Cowboys. But no, it’s definitely a dream come true being able to be at this bowl game, watching my brothers out there, watching my teammates out there. Being a part of this whole thing. I’m just thankful.”

For context: The Titans, owners of the No. 1 pick, only venture to the Lone Star state to play the AFC South rival Texans; The Browns pick second and do not play at the Cowboys. Even the Raiders, who some have linked to Shedeur, don’t have to head to Jerry World.

Dexter Lawrence, Malik Nabers take part in 2025 Pro Bowl Games | Giants.com

The Giants have two representatives in the 2025 Pro Bowl Games presented by Verizon: defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence and wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Lawrence, selected to his third consecutive Pro Bowl, appeared in The Big Spike and Tug-of-War events. Nabers, taking part in his first Pro Bowl Games, competed in the Relay Race and will take part in the 7-on-7 Flag Football Game.

Predicting the Landing Spot for the Top 2025 NFL Free Agent at Every Position | Bleacher Report

Teams looking for a long-term answer on the edge might favor Azeez Ojulari of the New York Giants over more established stars. He’s flashed tremendous upside when given the opportunity—he recorded six sacks, seven tackles for loss and 10 quarterback hits in 11 games this past season—and won’t turn 25 until June. If Ojulari does hit the market, the New England Patriots, who lead the NFL in projected cap space, loom as potential suitors. They traded pass-rushers Matthew Judon and Josh Uche this past season and need to significantly bolster a pass rush that produced a mere 28 sacks in 2024.

Seahawks Expected To Interview Giants’ Assistant Christian Jones For QB Coach Job | NFLTradeRumors.co

According to Aaron Wilson, the Seahawks are expected to interview Giants’ assistant QB coach Christian Jones for its quarterbacks coach job. The Giants hired him as a quarterbacks offensive assistant in 2022 and promoted him to assistant QBs coach the following year.
