Only 11 percent of fans think the team can turn it around in 2025.

The New York Giants were once again on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs. Really, it didn’t just feel like the Giants fell short so much as their 2024 season was a Charles Dickens story.

Giants’ fans watched as the Washington Commanders, a team they confidently thought was worse than the Giants, had a 12-win season. The Philadelphia Eagles, meanwhile made it all the way to the Super Bowl for the second time in three years.

So we asked Giants fans just how long they thought it would take the Giants to competing for the playoffs.

The majority of fans — 54% — believe that the team is two or three years away.

This result isn’t terribly surprising.

The Giants’ roster is likely in a better state than it gets credit for, and the Giants do have a nice core of talent on both the offense and defense. That’s made the last couple years extremely frustrating as the team had the talent to compete, but fell short.

However, the team also does have some holes on the roster at key spots, as well as depth concerns that have been exacerbated by injury. Some of those holes will be filled by young players developing, but the team will need to bring in more players to fill other holes.

The biggest barrier to competing has to be the quarterback question. As of now, it’s no sure thing that the Giants will be able to find an answer this year. Both the free agent class and draft class have potential but could be very disappointing. It’s unlikely that any team would be able to get their roster fortified enough to consistently drag a bad (or even mediocre) quarterback into the playoffs.

The Giants probably have enough talent on the roster right now to execute a quick turnaround if they can find the right quarterback. But whether or not that player is available in 2025 is another matter.
