The latest Super Bowl injury news.
On Friday, the Philadelphia Eagles issued the third of six injury reports leading up to their Super Bowl LIX matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Eagles ruled four players QUESTIONABLE: Brandon Graham, Kenny Gainwell, Britain Covey, and C.J. Uzomah.
It seems like these are the only players who are in potential jeopardy of missing the big game. And with nine days until February 9, there’s still time for their outlooks to improve.
Graham was limited for the second day in a row. He continues to sound optimistic about his chances of playing.
Gainwell has not practiced this week. He must clear the concussion protocol before he’s eligible to play. In addition to that, his needs his knee injury to not hold him back from playing. If Gainwell can’t suit up, the Eagles could look to temporarily elevate Tyrion Davis-Price from the practice squad to be RB3 behind Saquon Barkley and Will Shipley.
Covey has been limited ever since the Eagles opened his practice window to return from injured reserve last week. We’ll see if he’s able to fully participate in practice next week.
Uzomah has been fully participating in practice but it remains to be seen if the Eagles will actually activate him from IR or just stick with E.J. Jenkins as their third tight end.
The Eagles listed nine players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Gainwell, Zack Baun, DeVonta Smith, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Dallas Goedert, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, and Eli Ricks.
We already touched on Gainwell, who was ruled questionable to play.
Baun is a new addition to the injury report. Never fun to see a key player surprisingly pop up like this but that he wasn’t included in the “questionable” group points to him being able to play.
Smith, Dickerson, and Jurgens haven’t practiced this week due to injury. But it seems like they should be able to play.
Goedert, Barkley, and Brown haven’t practiced this week due to rest reasons. They’ll be able to play.
Ricks missed his second straight practice due to illness. He’s usually a healthy scratch on game day.
The Eagles listed three players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Brandon Graham, Britain Covey, and Nolan Smith.
We already touched on Graham and Covey, who were ruled questionable to play.
Smith was upgraded to limited after missing Thursday due to illness.
The Eagles listed three players under FULL PARTICIPATION: Moro Ojomo, Brett Toth, and C.J. Uzomah.
Ojomo was upgraded to full participation after sitting out on Thursday. Good to see.
Toth was full go for the second day in a row.
We already touched on Uzomah, who was ruled questionable to play.
