No way he means it, right?
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. You know it, I know it, and everyone else knows it… besides Chris Canty.
In a world of clickbait and hot takes, Canty has set his sights on Burrow since the beginning of the season, blaming the franchise quarterback for Cincinnati’s struggles.
With a slow week before the Super Bowl, Canty took to First Take on ESPN to go after Burrow yet again.

Yes, you heard that right. Canty said Burrow is not an elite quarterback. Canty says elite is defined by Super Bowls, All-Pros, and MVPs, which of course Burrow doesn’t have.
Cam Newton came to Burrow’s defense in a very fiery way.
“The audacity!” Newton said, later adding, “When you watch Joe Burrow in the pocket, he knows he’s going to get hit. He knows he doesn’t have the offensive line to really sustain and hold up, but still and yet, he’s still delivering.”
Newton continued, “If you give Joe Burrow a top-15…Heaven forbid a top-10 defense, where would they be then?”
For some reason, Canty has chosen Burrow to go after all year, but a former MVP in Newton was quick to defend him and shut Canty down.
