The latest news and updates on Philadelphia and Kansas City.

Neither the Philadelphia Eagles nor the Kansas City Chiefs actually held practice on Wednesday but the teams were still required to issue estimated injury reports as part of the lead up to Super Bowl LIX.

The Eagles listed nine players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: DeVonta Smith, Cam Jurgens, Landon Dickerson, Moro Ojomo, Brett Toth, Kenny Gainwell, Dallas Goedert, A.J. Brown, and Saquon Barkley.

Smith is an unexpected addition to the injury report. He’s listed with a hamstring injury. Hard to imagine he misses the Super Bowl but something to monitor leading up to the big game.

Jurgens and Dickerson were clearly playing through injuries in the NFC Championship Game. They still have some time to rest up before playing on February 9.

Ojomo is an unexpected addition to the injury report. He’s listed with a shoulder injury.

Toth is an unexpected addition to the injury report. Especially since he only played five offensive snaps and eight special teams snaps against the Washington Commanders. He’s listed with a knee injury. Toth is the third center option behind Jurgens and Dickerson.

Gainwell suffered a concussion in the NFC Championship Game. He’ll need to be cleared before he can return to the field. He’s also listed with a knee injury.

Goedert is listed with “rest/ankle.” Goedert missed some practice time leading up to the NFC Championship Game but was able to play and contribute effectively.

Brown and Barkley were both listed with “rest” designations. They’ll be ready to play.

The Eagles listed one player under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Britain Covey.

The Eagles opened Covey’s 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve last week. Covey was not deemed ready to play against Washington but it seems like he has a shot to play in the Super Bowl. Assuming he gets activated to the roster, Covey will be the Eagles’ punt returner in addition to providing wide receiver depth. Covey’s return would allow Cooper DeJean to focus solely on playing defense.

The Eagles notably did not list these players on the injury report: Brandon Graham, Jalen Hurts, Jalen Carter, Darius Slay, Quinyon Mitchell, and Kenny Pickett.

Considering the Eagles didn’t actually practice, there would be no point in activating Graham’s 21-day practice window to return from IR. We’ll see if he’s actually able to practice or not with the Eagles holding their first Super Bowl preparation practice on Thursday.

Hurts was listed on the injury report last week with a knee injury. He’s no longer listed.

Carter missed a couple snaps in the NFC Championship Game but was able to finish the game.

Slay got banged up late in the NFC Championship Game but apparently it wasn’t too serious of an issue.

Mitchell entered the NFC Championship Game with a shoulder injury. He’s no longer listed.

Pickett had previously been on every injury report since suffering broken ribs in Week 16. The backup quarterback is no longer listed.
