How soon can the Giants get back to the playoffs?
The New York Giants hit a new low in 2024 with a 3-14 season that also saw the team endure a level of turbulence at the quarterback position that only ever seemed to happen to other teams.
Giants fans enjoyed a decade and a half of stability at the quarterback position thanks to the presence of Eli Manning and his historic Iron Man streak. It always seemed as though the Giants at least had a chance whenever No. 10 was on the field, and those feelings have been few and far between since.
Adding insult to injury, the Giants had to watch the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles compete in the NFC Championship. Seeing division rivals compete at the highest level obvious raises the question: “How far away are the Giants?”
And that’s just what we’re asking this week. How far away are the Giants from being able to consistently compete in the playoffs?
Are the Giants more talented than they get credit for and just a quarterback away? Could they be on the verge of replicating the kind of turnaround we’ve seen the Houston Texans and Commanders execute over the last two years?
Do they need two or so years to fill holes and develop young players?
Are the Giants just getting started with an extended rebuild that could take three to five years?
Or are the Giants lost in a new wilderness that will take more than five years to find their way out of?
Turning back to Eli, he’s has been back in the news as he’s reached the final round of voting for the Pro Football Hall Of Fame. Easy E’s also participating in the festivities surrounding Super Bowl LIX and competing with his brother Peyton in the FanDuel Kick Of Destiny.
