Simpson had tremendous growing pains in 2024 and eventually was benched for Malik Harrison and Chris Board.

Simpson, who started the first 13 games this season, played just five snaps in Baltimore’s 35-14 win over the Giants. In the Ravens’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Dec. 1, the 2023 third-round pick logged just 22 snaps.

In the Week 13 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, he was on the field for 30 snaps.

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – SEPTEMBER 15: Offensive tackle Roger Rosengarten #70 of the Baltimore Ravens lines up against the Las Vegas Raiders at M&T Bank Stadium on September 15, 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland. (Photo by Rob Carr/Getty Images)

Rosengarten saw elite pass rushers from Day 1 when he joined the Ravens, but the former Washington Huskies offensive tackle improved, battled, and finished the year as one of the best players on a solid offensive line.

Rosengarten was the ninth tackle selected in last April’s NFL draft, and on Tuesday, he earned a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie team.

Rosengarten and No. 5-overall pick Joe Alt of the Los Angeles Chargers were the all-rookie offensive tackles.

After alternating snaps in the first three weeks, Rosengarten took over as the Ravens’ starting right tackle in Week 4 and never looked back, starting 16 games (including the playoffs).

Among offensive tackles who played at least 50% of the snaps, Rosengarten ranked No. 39 at his position, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). He was credited with four sacks allowed in 488 pass-blocking snaps.

Jackson could win his third NFL MVP, but his playoff failures will haunt the All-Pro quarterback for another off-season. DeCosta said he’ll give Jackson some space.

Ricard played a huge role in Derrick Henry’s monster season.

DeCosta on Ricard: “I’d love for him to retire as a Raven, too. He epitomizes what we’re all about.”

Said the goal is to get him back. Ricard is a pending FA.
