Cornerback doesn’t appear to be a glaring need for Indianapolis, but the team could still withstand to upgrade.
According to PFF, Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison is their intriguing 2025 NFL Draft prospect for the Indianapolis Colts, among a list compiled for each of the NFL’s 32 teams:
Indianapolis Colts: TE, EDGE, CB, S
Day 1 or 2 option: CB Benjamin Morrison, Notre Dame
Morrison earned PFF coverage grades above 80.0 in 2022 and 2023, and he was having another solid season in 2024 before it was ended by injury. From 168 coverage snaps over the first seven weeks of the season, he allowed just 12 receptions from 27 targets.
The listed 6’0,” 190 pound junior cornerback (and team captain) for the Fighting Irish recorded 20 tackles (14 solo) and 4 passes defensed during 6 games in 2024—having suffered a season-ending hip injury in mid-October.
He will not play in the upcoming CFP title game.
He entered the season as an AP Preseason All-American 2nd-Team member and is one year removed from being First-Team All-Independent in 2023 (the latter for a consecutive year).
Morrison was a Freshman All-American back in 2022—when he had 6 total interceptions in his collegiate debut campaign for Notre Dame:

Y’all…I think this cornerback class has been slept on a little bit.
Love Travis Hunter. Love Will Johnson. Top 5 players.
Really like Jahdae Barron + Trey Amos. First-rounders.
Injured guys like Shavon Revel + Benjamin Morrison were balling before getting hurt.

Regarding the Colts, cornerback doesn’t appear to be a glaring positional need compared to other positions (namely tight end and safety), as the team has a pair of young cornerbacks: Jaylon Jones and Samuel Womack III—both of whom largely held their own last year (and with oft-injured 2023 2nd rounder JuJu Brents also factoring into the outside mix).
However, a scheme change under a new Colts defensive coordinator featuring more man and press heavy coverage schemes could mean Indy is prioritizing a different type of corner going forward than in years past.
From that standpoint, Morrison could be a name to watch, although it would be surprising to see the Colts make him a first round pick, given the roster’s other glaring deficiencies.
