Finalizing the Conference Championship Games
We are just about ready to kick off the second half of the 2024 NFL Divisional Playoffs, and by the time today finishes we will have the Conference Championship Games completely set up.
The first game of the day will put the spotlight on the NFC, as the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Los Angeles Rams. This one has gotten some added significance, because the winner will now be hosting the NFC Championship Game this weekend with Detroit’s loss on Saturday night. Whoever wins this one will face the Washington Commanders next weekend. This game is scheduled to kick off at 2:00 PM Central time, and it will be broadcast on NBC affiliates around the country as well as streaming on Peacock.
Then, we’ll get to the main event of the weekend, the big one that everyone has been waiting for. It will be a battle between the two leading candidates for this year’s Most Valuable Player award, as Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will host Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. The winner of this one gets the right to travel to Kansas City for the AFC Championship Game. This game will kick off at 5:30 PM Central time, and it will be aired on CBS with streaming on Paramount+.
Both of these games are rematches of regular season contests, and both of them were rather one-sided. The Rams hosted the Eagles at SoFi Stadium back in Week 12, with the Eagles emerging with a 37-20 victory. That game also featured Saquon Barkley rushing for 255 yards and two touchdowns in the rout. The Bills and Ravens played much earlier in the season, with the two teams getting together in Baltimore way back in Week 4. In that one, Derrick Henry had a big game of his own, rushing for 199 yards and a touchdown, and tossed in a receiving touchdown for good measure in a 35-10 Baltimore win.
