The Kansas City cornerback has worked his way back to the roster after fracturing his ankle in Week 7.
As expected, the Kansas City Chiefs have activated cornerback Jaylen Watson from their Reserve/Injured list, making him eligible to play in Saturday’s Divisional round matchup against the Houston Texans on GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. While he was listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report, he is expected to play.
Friend-of-the-site Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest had the story.
Chiefs have officially designated CB Jaylen Watson to return from injured reserve. He’s on the 53 active player roster for Saturday.
Chiefs also used practice squad elevations on LB Swayze Bozeman S Deon Bush for Saturday’s game against the Texans.

Watson fractured his ankle during Kansas City’s 28-18 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7. He was designated to return to the roster on January 3, allowing him to practice with the team. He was a full participant in all of this week’s sessions.
The roster was at 52 after defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu was added to injured reserve last Friday, so no corresponding roster move is expected.
The team has also elevated practice squad players for Saturday’s game: linebacker Swayze Bozeman and safety Deon Bush.
The team made two other moves this week. On Wednesday, the official NFL transactions report revealed that the team had released tight end Robert Tonyan from its practice squad. Tonyan had been signed to the taxi squad on December 23.
To fill his practice-squad spot, Kansas City signed wide receiver Jason Brownlee. The six-foot-3, 202-pound wideout joined the leagues as an undrafted free agent for the New York Jets after the 2023 NFL Draft. He appeared in seven New York games at the end of his rookie season — catching five passes for 56 yards and a touchdown — but spent 2024 on the Jets’ practice squad.
