Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 1/17/25
It’s cliche because it’s true and some things in are bigger than football. The wild fires raging across and through Los Angeles have been exactly that. Credit to some fans of the Philadelphia Eagles who have banded together to try and raise money to help those affected. It’s awesome to see.
There is also a story circling that the Eagles’ organization donated money to an upcoming concert being put together to raise even more funds.
Best believe come Sunday those fans and the organization will go back to rooting and supporting Philly over the Los Angeles Rams, and they should! The game should be fun, and as competitive as people are that doesn’t mean they don’t care.
Always nice to share some good news. Thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great Friday!
Eagles Fans Make Generous Donation to L.A. Wildfire Relief Ahead of Playoff Game vs. Rams (si.com)
“Now that we know the Rams are our opponent and obviously LA is dealing with some seriously crazy stuff right now, I thought it might be nice ahead of the game to offer some help and support LA’s way from birds fans (and especially after that horrible fan made life miserable for an opposing Packers fan and went viral for it),” the GoFundMe read.
“We’re still gonna kick the Rams’ butts, but there’s plenty of people in and around LA (Rams and birds’ fans alike) that could use some help right now. I know a lot of the attention is going towards celebrities but there are plenty of everyday people who have lost a lot during this and are risking life and limb to help others.”
Continuing to come together.

TMZ has learned … the famous rock band is donating $2.5 million.
It’s unclear if the huge donation means the Eagles are among the acts performing later this month at the FireAid benefit concert.”

Rams designate two defenders to return from injured reserve (ramswire)
“Linebacker Troy Reeder and defensive lineman Larrell Murchison have both been designated to return from injured reserve, giving them a chance to play against the Eagles this weekend.
The Rams will still need to activate them before the game, and if they do, they’ll also need to make room on the 53-man roster by either cutting someone or putting them on injured reserve.”

“Forecasters are watching the potential of a coastal low forming on Sunday,” Fox 29 Philadelphia’s Belinda Brusch and Kathy Orr wrote on January 15. “It’s early, and the models disagree, but the European model has the system bringing an inch of snow in time for the Eagles game Sunday.”
