Cincinnati would have a true 1-2 punch in the running back room with Ashton Jeanty and Chase Brown.
It is officially the offseason for the Cincinnati Bengals after just missing the NFL Playoffs as the team ends the 2024 season with a 9-8 record.
The Bengals have made quick work of the staff firings after the disastrous season and are working through the hiring process for several positions, including defensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
Duke Tobin and his staff now turn their focus to the 2025 NFL Draft and will need to hit on numerous instant-impact guys during draft weekend.
CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards has the Bengals landing a massive offensive weapon at pick No. 17 to complement Chase Brown.
Edwards has Cincinnati selecting Boise State Broncos superstar Ashton Jeanty with the 17th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
“Tee Higgins could move on this offseason despite a public campaign from Joe Burrow. If that were to happen, then there are other ways to supplement the pass game. Clyde Edwards-Helaire went on to be a first-round pick after working with Burrow. His contributions in the pass game were a big reason for that heavy investment,” Edwards stated.
This is a best-player-available type of selection for the Bengals if the draft fell this way specifically.
The Bengals have plenty of issues to address in the trenches and secondary before adding a first-round running back, but it would be hard not to celebrate Jeanty coming to Cincinnati to play with Joe Burrow.
Having two great backs would also help take some pressure off the Burrow and the offensive line. Everyone knows they could certainly use the help, as that unit just hasn’t been able to produce consistently for the last decade.
