One Bengals legend praises another.
The Cincinnati Bengals are getting their offseason underway as a few roster decisions loom over the next few months.
One player that is locked in, however, is quarterback Joe Burrow.
Burrow has been quite impressive since entering the league, with this season being one of his best stat-wise. That has helped catch the eye of one Bengals legend, Anthony Munoz.
Munoz on Friday took part in the Hall of Fame’s character exhibit, and praised Burrow for his character leading this team.
“The guy is just amazing, including physically,” Munoz said, “but as I tell my grandkids, watch Joe, not how he throws the ball or how he runs the offense, but watch how he handles adversity and success during the game. He might throw a pick-six and come back and lead them to a touchdown. I mean, watch those traits.”
He even spoke about how he kept an eye on him during his time at LSU.
“I usually don’t watch college players as much as I watched Joe when he was in college,” Munoz, said. “I watched Joe every single game at LSU his last year.”
The Hall-of-Fame lineman knew that’s who the Bengals had to get.
“I said, ‘No, we’ve got to get Joe, we’ve got to get Joe, because that’s what we need.’ I think they were in the Joe camp after the first year.”
Burrow continues to impress across the league and is looking to make another deep playoff run in the upcoming season. Now, the team just needs to finish building out the roster around him.
