Kobie Turner led a dominant charge for Rams defense against Vikings’ Sam Darnold
No Aaron Donald? No problem. The Los Angeles Rams sacked Sam Darnold an unbelievable nine times in L.A.’s 27-9 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Monday night’s wild card round. Not only does nine sacks tie an NFL playoff record for a single game, but the 82 yards lost by Darnold on those plays is a new NFL record.
It was a dominant performance by the Rams defensive line, but also a pitiful effort by Darnold and Minnesota’s offensive line.
Most yards lost on sacks in playoff game since merger:
Joe Burrow 68 vs Titans 2021 divisional round
Warren Moon 68 vs Chiefs 1993 divisional round
Sam Darnold 65 vs Rams tonight

The sacks broke down like this:
- Kobie Turner, 2 sacks
- Byron Young, 1.5 sacks
- Neville Gallimore, 1.5 sacks
- Desjuan Johnson, 1 sack
- Ahkello Witherspoon, 1 sack
- Cobie Durant, 1 sack

Amazingly, Jared Verse had no sacks, but still had five pressures (a career-high) and a touchdown.

Darnold had 245 total passing yards but only 163 net passing yards because of the yards lost on sacks.
The Rams now advance to play the Philadelphia Eagles.
