Monday’s win over the Vikings proves you should never bet against the best
If there was any lesson to take away from Monday night, it’s to never count out the L.A. Rams with Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford. NFL Network personality and “Good Morning Football” host Kyle Brandt called McVay the best coach in the NFL after LA destroyed the Vikings.

Andy Reid and his three Super Bowl rings might have something to say about that, but it’s hard to argue with Brandt’s logic. McVay is at the very least, the best coach in the NFC. That’s not a laughable statement when he coached circles around the league’s likely Coach of the Year Kevin O’Connell.
The 38-year-old has transformed the Rams’ playoff fortunes while winning the same number of playoff games as Mike Tomlin. But please tell me again about how Tomlin has never had a losing season.

McVay deserves most of the credit for LA’s turnaround this season and so does Stafford. The veteran quarterback didn’t have a playoff win to his name until he joined McVay in Hollywood. That pairing has produced three playoff trips in four seasons, a Lombardi Trophy and shattered the narrative that Stafford cannot win the big ones.

Stafford didn’t magically morph into a different player following his time in Detroit. He’s always had the clutch gene, his 0-3 playoff record with the Lions be damned. Partnering with McVay only helped him unlock his full potential and made the Rams a tough got in the NFC playoffs.
No matter what happens in Philadelphia on Sunday, LA is in the Divisional Round because the McVay-Stafford duo refused to give up on the season. There was every reason to wave the white flag after how the season started and there were hiccups along the way, including being forced to play a “home” game at a division rival’s stadium. The Rams were unphased and finished strong anyway.
What Sean McVay has done over the last two seasons can’t be overlooked

With Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford, the Rams will always have a chance. NFC teams have been warned if the rest of the playoff field has made the mistake of overlooking them like Dan Campbell had.
