If you haven’t seen the score, don’t look
They’re heading into the locker rooms at halftime in Glendale, and your Minnesota Vikings are getting blown out of State Farm Stadium as they trail the Los Angeles Rams by a score of 24-3.
The Vikings started the quarter with the football, and after coming up just short on a 3rd-and-10 play, the Vikings got their first points of the night on a 34-yard field goal from Will Reichard to make it a 10-3 game. Then, on the first play of the Rams’ next possession, Matthew Stafford was sacked by Jonathan Greenard and fumbled it away right to Blake Cashman, who picked it up and rumbled for the tying touchdown. . .or so we thought. The officials congregated and, instead, decided that Stafford “threw the ball forward” and ruled it an incomplete pass.
Call overturned. They’re giving Stafford a throw and incomplete pass for this. No intentional grounding either. Kevin O’Connell is not happy. pic.twitter.com/nWSgkKNihK

The Vikings were then forced to punt it away after forcing a three-and-out from the Rams, but the Rams got called for roughing the kicker on Ryan Wright to give the Vikings a free set of downs. Unfortunately, the Vikings couldn’t take advantage as a Sam Darnold pass for Jordan Addison was intercepted by Cobie Durant of the Rams to put an end to the drive.
The Rams then went three-and-out and the Vikings took over at their own 10-yard line. Minnesota then pushed into Los Angeles territory, but Darnold was then sacked for the fourth time in the first half by Ahkello Witherspoon and fumbled it away with rookie Jared Verse recovering the loose ball and returning it 57 yards for a touchdown to make it 17-3.
Minnesota turned it over again on their next drive, as they went for it on a fourth down play and Darnold was sacked for the sixth time in the first half. The Rams cashed in again, as Stafford found Davis Allen for a 13-yard score to make it 24-3 going into halftime.
The Vikings will get the ball to start the second half, not that it’s going to matter much, as they’re down 24-3 after the first half of play. Come on in and join us for the third quarter anyway, won’t you?
