The 2024 Miami Dolphins opened the year with high expectations and a presumed path to a division title and a deep playoff run. They ended the 2024 regular season with an 8-9 record, missing the playoffs, and a lot of questions that have to be answered. Fans were already struggling with their trust in the direction of the team. How are they feeling after a Week 18 loss to the New York Jets?
Probably just about how you would guess they are feeling. The team disappointed throughout the season, and our weekly SB Nation Reacts fan confidence poll, brought to us by FanDuel Sportsbook, demonstrated that frustration throughout the year. As the year now comes to a close, we are seeing that frustration continue heading into 2025.

The good news is, the results are not the worst we have seen this year. The bad news is, it is miserably bad – and rightfully so. This was not a reflection of one bad game or based on a small sample size. The Dolphins’ peak for the year was in the preseason, and it fell off pretty badly as soon as games started being played.
Miami opened the year 2-6. They were able to turn it around with a 6-2 run after that, but needing a win and some help in Week 18, the team proceeded to sleep their way through the Jets game, losing it to finish below .500 for the first time in three years.
Miami opened the year with hope, and now heads into the offseason hoping to be able to find answers to what went wrong this season.
The fan confidence poll started the year with 85 percent of the fans confident in the direction of the team. They end with just six percent feeling positive about the team. The Dolphins have a lot to do if they want the fans to be fired up about 2025.
