The Eagles RT got Second Team All-Pro honors, but the stats prove he was snubbed.
The AP All-Pro honors were announced on Friday, and six Eagles were named to either the first or second team. One surprise, which was also a snub, was right tackle Lane Johnson being named Second Team All-Pro.
Johnson hadn’t allowed a sack all season, and has consistently been the best and most dominant offensive lineman in the league. During media availability on Friday afternoon, Johnson’s impressive stats were highlighted on a piece of paper taped to the side of his locker comparing him and the First Team All-Pro Penei Sewell.

The numbers certainly tell a story — one in which Lane Johnson bests Sewell in every notable category. No one is arguing that Lions’ RT isn’t one of the best in the league, but on paper and on film, Johnson is leading the way. It seems fair to say that Johnson, while probably appreciative of the overall honor, has some feelings about the snub.

Head coach Nick Sirianni assuredly agrees — in his press conference Friday, Sirianni repeatedly called Johnson the best offensive lineman in the world.
