Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn reportedly has 4 head coach interviews scheduled this week.

The Detroit Lions are on a bye this week, but defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn has a busy schedule ahead of him anyway. Though he got some time to enjoy the Pistons game on Monday night, he’ll be in virtual meetings nearly the rest of the week. Per NFL Network, Glenn is scheduled to have four separate head coaching interviews this week, spreading them out from Thursday to Saturday.

It’s unclear the order of said interviews, but according to Ian Rapoport, Glenn will talk to the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears, and Jacksonville Jaguars. Per NFL rules, these interviews must be done virtually at this point in the offseason.

UPDATE: Josina Anderson is reporting Glenn’s interview with the Saints is on Friday.

Glenn already has close ties to the Jets and Saints organizations. He was drafted by the Jets as a player, spent the first eight years of his playing career there, and got his start as a pro scout with the organization. As a coach, many of his roots are with the Saints, where he spent five years as the defensive backs coach before parlaying that into his current position with the Lions. Glenn interviewed for the Saints head coaching job back in 2022 but eventually lost that opportunity to then-Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. He also spent the final year of his playing career (2008) with the Saints.

In addition to Glenn, Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is also a hot candidate for head coaching vacancies this offseason. Per reports, three teams (Bears, Patriots, Jaguars) have requested to interview him. That said, Albert Breer suggested Johnson may only choose to interview with the Bears and Patriots:
