Paycor Stadium got a 16-year naming rights deal in 2022, but the name could be changing much sooner than expected.
Paycor, one of the largest Cincinnati-based public companies, has been purchased by one of its largest rivals in Paychex, it was announced on Tuesday. The acquisition is expected to close in the first half of the 2025 calendar year.
What does this mean for Paycor Stadium?
The immediate impact for the Cincinnati Bengals could be a name change from Paycor to the new company that purchased them in Paychex, a company based out of New York.
Paycor Stadium, for a long time, was one of the few NFL venues that had not sold its naming rights, maintaining the name Paul Brown Stadium in honor of Brown’s legacy.
However, with mega deals needed for Joe Burrow and others, the Bengals decided to sell the right to name the stadium. It was good that it went to a local company and many seemed to get used to the new name of Paycor quickly.
Now, Bengals fans may have to get used to Paychex Stadium being the team’s home. However, nothing has been announced from either side on if Paycor Stadium will be retained or changed to Paychex Stadium.
