Ray Farmer is looking for a second chance after stint with Rams
With Brad Holmes turning the Detroit Lions from a laughingstock to the number one seed, it is only a matter of time before another Les Snead disciple gets a general manager job. The New York Jets continued their exhaustive — sometimes ludicrous — GM and head coach search on Monday with the announcement that the team will interview Ray Farmer, who is currently a senior personnel exec in the Rams front office.
If the Jets hire Farmer, the Rams would receive two third round compensatory draft picks through the NFL’s minority hiring program, the same compensation that L.A. received when the Lions hired Holmes in 2021.
Jets requested a general manager interview with Rams senior personnel executive Ray Farmer, per source. Farmer works closely with Rams GM Les Snead throughout their draft process.

This is not the first time that Farmer has drawn interest in GM searches while with the Rams, but his history with the Cleveland Browns is as unfavorable as any other person in football who goes through that organization. The Jaguars interviewed Farmer for their open GM position in 2021.
Other candidates known for the Jets GM job include Ryan Grigson, Thomas Dimitroff, and Jon Robinson, all former GMs, as well as Mike Borgonzi, Mike Greenberg (not that one), Trey Brown, and Alec Halaby.
