Several practice squad players brought back for 2025 season
Amidst all of Monday’s other, bigger news the New York Giants began putting together the pieces of their 2025 90-man roster by signing five players to reserve/futures contracts.
Signed were defensive tackles Casey Rogers and Ross Blacklock, centers Jimmy Morrissey and Bryan Hudson, and placekicker Jude McAtamney. All five players ended the season on the Giants’ practice squad.
Rogers, who was an undrafted free agent rookie, played in two games. McAtamney, who was also an undrafted rookie free agent, kicked a field goal and an extra point against the Washington Commanders in his only game.
Morrissey was on the practice squad from Aug. 28 to Dec. 10, when he was designated practice squad/injured. The latter date was when Blacklock joined the practice squad. Hudson was signed to the practice squad on Nov. 6.
Morrissey appeared in 14 games with four starts for the Houston Texans from 2021-2023. Blacklock has 44 games of NFL experience with the Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans. Hudson has never appeared in an NFL game.
