Interesting.
The Cincinnati Bengals are about to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers with their season on the line. Ron Torbert, who it is safe to say is not a Bengals fan favorite, was expected to officiate the game.
Just hours before kickoff, Jay Morrison reported that the head official for tonight’s game would be John Hussey.
The league made the switch from Ron Torbert to John Hussey.

Hussey was scheduled to officiate the Bengals Week 8 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles but was a late scratch ahead of the game.
The Bengals have a 5-4 record in games officiated by Hussey, including wins in three of their last four.
The NFL has not announced why Torbert is no longer officiating the game, but you likely won’t hear any complaints from Bengals fans, especially after how the 2023 AFC Championship in Kansas City went down.
The Bengals vs. Steelers coverage will kick off at 8 PM ET on both ESPN and ABC.
