Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 1/2/25

In a recent interview Sean McVay didn’t shutdown the idea about Mike LaFleur calling the offensive plays this coming Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. This is LaFleur’s second year as offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams, but it’s head coach McVay who has historically taken play calling duties since his arrival with the team.

Due to L.A. already locking up a playoff spot, this upcoming matchup does not have the same level of the importance as earlier games this year. In response, McVay seems poised to rest plenty of starters while potentially giving LaFluer play calling responsibilities for the final regular season game of the season.

It’s great to see McVay give his other coaches and players opportunities, but come next week expect L.A. to be back to normal operating procedures as they ready for the playoffs.

NFL experts predict Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Rams rematch for Week 18 (sportingnews)

“The Seattle Seahawks are heading into the last game on their schedule this year. They’ll be getting a rematch with the Los Angeles Rams, who handed them arguably their worst loss of the season in Week 9 in overtime. That sent Seattle into the bye week with a 4-5 record and dropped their chances of making the playoffs into the single digits.

While the Seahawks rallied, they were unable to climb out of the hole and the Rams clinched the NFC West on Sunday night when the Commanders beat the Falcons. It won’t mean much, but Seattle can at least get a little bit of payback to end the season. Here’s a look at who the experts are picking for Seattle’s 2024 season finale.”

Rams’ Sean McVay’s Fourth Division Title Cements Legacy (si.com)

“Sean McVay will one day have his bust in Canton, Ohio.

The 38-year-old head coach of the Rams does have other priorities on his mind besides thinking about where his Hall of Fame career will end but when his resume gets examined, it gets more and more impressive with each passing year.

In eight years as the Rams’ head coach, he has had seven winning seasons, six playoff appearances, four division titles, two NFC championships, and a victory in Super Bowl LVI. That’s a resume envied by coaches in the NFL and exceeds some already in the hall. With a lot of coaching left in him, McVay has a lot of accolades to pile up.”

Rams’ Matthew Stafford Asks Police To Help Protect Home (newsweek)

“Los Angeles Rams star quarterback asked law enforcement to inspect his home for “weak spots” after 2024 saw a rash of reported international burglary rings robbing the dwellings of high-profile athletes, per TMZ.”
