Giants’ chances of picking No. 1 have decreased dramatically
We know that the New York Giants dropped from No. 1 to No. 4 in the 2025 NFL Draft order by defeating the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
There is, though, one week remaining in the season and four teams — including the Giants — with 3-13 records. So, what are the chances that the Giants can still end up with the No. 1 overall pick?
Pro Football Network says five teams have a shot at picking first. It breaks down like this:
A week ago, PFN’s playoff predictor gave the Giants a 42.5% chances at the first pick, with the Patriots No. 2 at 15.8%.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll, who may or may not have a job after the Giants finish the season this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, was not thinking about the draft during his Monday Zoom call with Giants media.
“My focus is on the team we play.,” Daboll said. “I understand the question. Doing everything we can do to compete at the highest level we can compete. We put a lot of work into this. I was happy for the players.
“Our focus is on the opponent we’re playing and ourselves each week as a coaching staff and players. We do, again, try to do everything we can do to go out there and play as coach as good as we can.”
