Saquon 2K!
There’s something really special about Saquon Barkley in kelly green. First we got the legendary backward hurdle, and now the generational running back has hit 2,000 rushing yards in a single season.

He was just 162 yards shy of the milestone as he took the field at The Linc on Sunday. With just over 10 minutes left in the game — with the Eagles up 34-7 — Barkley hit 167 rushing yards and was promptly pulled to preserve his legs for another week.
Barkley is now just the ninth running back in NFL history to top 2,000 rushing yards in a single season, joining: Eric Dickerson, Adrian Peterson, Jamal Lewis, Barry Sanders, Derrick Henry, Terrell Davis, Chris Johnson, O.J. Simpson.
Barkley hit 2,000 total offensive yards last week against the Commanders, coming into the Week 17 game against Dallas with 2,114 yards from scrimmage this season. With his 169 total yards on Sunday, Barkley also set a new Eagles’ franchise record for single season scrimmage yards record — formerly set by LeSean McCoy in 2013 with 2,146 yards.
This was the just the latest of Shady’s records that Barkley was able to top, and just a few weeks ago surpassed McCoy’s single-season rushing record for the organization.

As Barkley has been knocking off long-standing personal, franchise, and league records throughout the season, the RB told Zach Berman that he made an effort to study the history of the Eagles rushers and pay the proper respect.
Saquon Barkley on closing in on Eagles records: “I’m well aware of it. Once I got here, I looked up the history of the Eagles running backs. And I wasn’t familiar with Wilbert Montgomery. So I even got into a dive on him… And Westbrook and Shady. So that’s the goal. You want to…

It’s so impressive what Barkley has been able to do in his first season in Philadelphia, and thanks to the help of Jeff Stoutland’s offensive line, we’ve all been gifted the opportunity to see the RB’s true potential.
