Making sure you can follow all of today’s action
It’s officially game day, everybody! We want to make sure that everyone can find today’s crucial NFC North matchup between the Green Bay Packers and our Minnesota Vikings so that they can follow along with all of the action. To do that, as we do pretty much every week, we’ve got all the information you need in one place.
Television Info
This game was moved this week to the late afternoon window, which means that things will be getting started at 3:25 PM Central time on Sunday afternoon. This game will be aired on the FOX family of networks, including KMSP-9 in the Twin Cities, and for the first time this year we’re getting the #1 FOX team of Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady on the call. There’s no map necessary for this one, as this will be the only game that FOX is showing in today’s late window, airing it to a nationwide audience.
That means you don’t need YouTube TV NFL Sunday Ticket, either. Just turn on your local FOX station.
For our men and women serving in uniform overseas, the American Forces Network will be showing this one LIVE on AFN Sports. Be prepared to either get up early or stay up late, as kickoff is slated for 2100Z, which translates to 2200L for viewers in Central Europe, 0000L on Tuesday morning for everyone on Arabian Time, and 0600L on Tuesday morning for fans in Japan and Korea. You should also now be able to stream these games using the AFN Now app. I, personally, haven’t used the app so I’m not sure how it works or how well it works, but it’s an option for you.
Radio Info
If you have a Vikings Radio Network affiliate in your area, most of them will probably be carrying the game. We’ve provided you with the full list of affiliates for this season, so use our page to find the affiliate nearest to you.
Those of you who will use satellite radio to listen to this one can find the feed from the Vikings Radio Network on SiriusXM Channel 382. You can listen to the Packers’ feed on Channel 226 if you feel so compelled. If you use the SiriusXM app, the Vikings’ permanent home is on Channel 820.
Referee Info
According to the people at Football Zebras, this week’s officiating crew will be led by Carl Cheffers. This will be the first time the Vikings have seen Cheffers and his squad this season. The last game involving the Vikings that he did was last year’s 22-17 Minnesota victory over San Francisco at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Weather Info
This game is being played inside of U.S. Bank Stadium, so obviously the elements won’t be in play during the game itself. If you’re traveling to the game or planning on partaking in any pre-game activities, our friends from WeatherNation are forecasting some less-than-pleasant conditions. Temperatures will be in the upper 30s and there will be some form of precipitation falling pretty much all day long, so be careful traveling as you’re leaving the stadium.
Betting Info
The line for this one has fluctuated quite a bit over the course of the week, but it appears to have settled on the Vikings being a 1.5-point favorite as we get closer to kickoff, according to the folks from FanDuel. The over/under is sitting at 48.5 points.
Streaming Info
Again, literally every FOX affiliate from coast-to-coast is carrying this game. If you’re in the local area and have cut the cord, you should be able to find it on a service such as Fubo TV or Sling TV.
I’ll say the same thing about illegal streams that I always say: don’t. Or damn sure don’t go advertising them here. You’ll be banned and that will be the end of it.
Post-Game Info
As is usually the case, we will be back with a LIVE post-game show after this one from Vikings Report with Drew and Ted. We’ll have a separate post for the game, or you can head over to the Vikings Report YouTube page and catch the show there.
That should be all of the information you need in order to follow along with all of today’s action between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers. We’ll have our first discussion thread of the day dropping at around 3:00 PM Central, approximately 30 minutes before kickoff.
