WOW!
Heading in to the Sunday slate of Week 17, Cincinnati Bengals fans were locked in to the Indianapolis Colts vs. New York Giants game. Part of the formula that lands Cincinnati in the postseason was the Colts losing one of their final two games.
With the first overall pick in the NFL Draft in their sights and nothing to play for, the Giants fans likely wanted them to lose, but Drew Lock and Malik Nabers had other plans.
Lock threw for 309 yards and four touchdown passes, and Nabers hauled in seven receptions for 171 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Giants to a 45-33 win at Metlife Stadium.
Help us Bengals fans certainly didn’t expect but will gladly accept.
For the later game, we need to set our AFC North rivalry with the Cleveland Browns to the side and hope they knock off the Miami Dolphins. If that happens, all the Bengals need in Week 18 is to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers and have the Denver Broncos lose to the Kansas City Chiefs, likely down several starters as they rest for the playoffs.
In October, it seemed like there was no way the Bengals would be playing meaningful football in Week 18, but here we are. The slim path has widened by just a bit.
Thank you, Giants!
