The Eagles are back at home for this Week 17 matchup against the Cowboys.
The Philadelphia Eagles are now 12-3 heading into their Week 17 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys and still have a chance to be crowned the NFC East Champions with a win on Sunday.
Kenny Pickett grew up an Eagles fan, and on Sunday afternoon, he’ll get to run out of the tunnel as the team’s starting quarterback decked out in the classic kelly green uniforms. Jalen Hurts didn’t clear concussion protocol prior to the game, but Pickett isn’t exactly healthy. The backup QB has been dealing with a rib injury he sustained against the Commanders, but with a little extra padding, will still take the field.
The Eagles have named Tanner McKee QB2 and re-signed Ian Book earlier in the week to give them a QB3 option. It’s not exactly an ideal situation, but letting Hurts take the time he needs to get healthy — both the concussion and the broken finger on his non-throwing hand — ahead of the playoffs, is hopefully the silver-lining.
A.J. Brown said that he and Pickett spent extra time together this week to work on their connection, and Saquon Barkley continues to dominate on the ground and is still working toward a couple huge league records. Barkley is 162 rushing yards away from hitting 2,000, and is only 268 rushing yards away from setting a new single-season rushing record — previously set by Eric Dickerson in 1984 with 2,105 yards.
Here’s hoping that no one gets injured or ejected against the Cowboys, and that the Eagles can claim the NFC East title and sail into the postseason with some positive vibes.
