Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 12/27/24
The Los Angeles Rams take on the Arizona Cardinals in a huge matchup on Saturday night, and this game will help to determine the outcome of the NFC West. Arizona whooped up on L.A. earlier this season, but the Rams look like they are hitting their stride at the right time with a current four game win streak.
Whatever the Rams have looked like the last few weeks they need to get ready to get after Kyler Murray. This is an exciting opportunity for the Rams and it’s an exciting moment for the fans as well. Can the Rams keep it going or will they raise more questions of their readiness with a poor performance on Saturday?

“Cardinals QB Kyler Murray vs. Rams defensive line. Los Angeles had no answers for Murray in September as he threw for 266 yards and three touchdowns without an interception and added 59 yards rushing. But their defensive front is much more cohesive than it was in the second week of the season, with rookies Jared Verse and Braden Fiske proving to be menaces in the backfield. If Murray feels that pressure and can’t keep his eyes downfield, the Rams will be in much better shape to limit Arizona’s passing game.”

James Conner, Three More Cardinals Questionable vs Rams (si.com)
“It seems like a long time ago when we played the Rams Week 2, but (they are a) good football team. Obviously, they’re playing really good ball right now. They protect the ball; they’re playing good defense. I really think that the last couple games, when you look at them, they’re playing really clean so that’s the challenge to our guys,” said head coach Jonathan Gannon.
“We have to be able to match that, play our brand of ball to have a chance to win, so (I’m) excited for the opportunity.”
The Cardinals will make practice squad elevations on Friday and will reveal inactives 90 minutes prior to kickoff on Saturday at SoFi Stadium.”

Surging Rams host the eliminated Cardinals in the rematch of a rare blowout loss for Sean McVay (yourvalley)
“If you had only watched these NFC West rivals’ first meeting in Week 2, you would be gobsmacked to find out which team is which.
The Rams (9-6) have hardly ever been blown out during coach Sean McVay’s eight seasons, which include seven years of winning records and playoff contention. But that’s exactly what the Cardinals (7-8) did to them in mid-September, rolling to a 41-10 victory that ranks as the second-biggest thrashing of McVay’s career.
“We got our butt kicked, and it happened quick,” Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur said. “It was one of those things that you don’t really want to experience, but it does happen from time to time, where before you blink, you’re almost out of it.”
