Joe Schoen has a Giants plan, even if it’s hard to see right now | New York Post
The length of a contract is not arbitrarily thrown out there. That general manager Joe Schoen received a five-year deal from the Giants prior to the 2022 season certainly does not ensure he will return in 2025. But it should make those who will make that call — co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch — think long and hard about what they tasked Schoen to do and how long they envisioned it would take him to do it.

NFC East roundtable: Are Commanders ‘team no one wants to play’? What’s the best Christmas song? | The Athletic
Do you think the Giants bring back coach Brian Daboll and/or GM Joe Schoen in 2025?
Carroll: The question is how much Giants ownership values continuity over the reality of these gruesome results and what they usually mean for coaches. It’s clear fans want to see a change. Our fan survey earlier this season revealed that the vast majority of fans had lost faith in both Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen. With the No. 1 pick nearly locked up, a blank slate could be appealing.

Hindsight may be 20/20, but one can’t help but wonder how different things might have been for the New York Giants if they had made other decisions/moves to help their roster—including re-signing RB Saquon Barkley, signed a CB1 in free agency, held an open quarterback competition, and if Mike Kafka was still calling the plays.
WR Malik Nabers on what the rookie class has brought to the team this year
Malik Nabers on his favorite quality from the Giants’ rookie class:
“We’ve got that mentality that we want to win. Nothing’s going to stop us from getting done what we want to get done. To have that as a group and all in one, the sky’s the limit for us, I’m happy for that.” pic.twitter.com/xPU4BbzIXG

NY Giants: How much has changed for Brian Daboll since last game vs. Colts | The Record
On that day two years ago, Daniel Jones was chanted off the field in celebration by the crowd. Brian Daboll got the head coach Gatorade bath, harkening back to the beginning of one of the greatest times in franchise history, and the Giants clinched a playoff berth by smacking the Colts, 38-10.
Two years later, Jones is in Minnesota on the Vikings’ practice squad. Daboll faces an uncertain future, having been forced to answer questions about his job security since Week 2; the Giants have lost a franchise-worst 10 straight games, and they are in danger of becoming the first team to finish 0-9 at home in NFL history if they fall to the Colts.
Notebook: QB Drew Lock on track to start vs. Colts | Giants.com
“It feels good having a second week of practice in a row, being able to go out and see the same faces in the huddle for a couple weeks,” Lock said. “They have a guy going out there that they’ve been with the week before, giving them confidence. The familiarity, the connection, the timing, how the ball comes out of my hand, the cadence – all of the above just has to benefit everybody.”
Count Todd McShay as a Sanders guy
“If I’m a franchise that needs a quarterback and I know that we have to start a guy year one — I do think Shedeur is going to be the better long-term quarterback but I know Shedeur is going to be the better quarterback early in his career.” – NFL personnel to @McShay13 #NFLDraft pic.twitter.com/h1g5zK1pWN

NFL draft insider predicts QB Cam Ward to New York Giants | USAToday.com
ESPN NFL draft analyst and insider, Matt Miller, strongly believes the Giants will take Ward with the first overall pick (assuming they hang onto it). The 22-year-old Ward, in his first season at Miami, completed 67.4 percent of his passes for 4,123 yards, 36 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while adding 146 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
Ranking Eliminated NFL Teams Most Likely to Bounce Back Next Season | Bleacher Report
Multi-year project: New York Giants. The Giants don’t have an answer at quarterback and don’t have the environment in place for a rookie to succeed either way. They are essentially where the Patriots were this season. Even if they get the No. 1 pick and nail the selection, they still have a porous defense, a struggling offensive line and not a lot of weapons outside of Malik Nabers.

Source – Colts optimistic QB Anthony Richardson to play vs. Giants | ESPN.com
Colts QB Anthony Richardson’s status is in question after he appeared to be a non-participant in practice Thursday for the second consecutive day with back and foot injuries, putting his availability for Sunday’s road game against the Giants in jeopardy.
A team source told ESPN the Colts were optimistic about Richardson playing on Sunday, adding that he has made consistent progress and is responding to treatment. But the source said Richardson’s performance in Friday’s practice would be critical.
Chiefs win crushes Colts playoff chances | Stampede Blue
It matters to the Colts because the team they are chasing for the final Wild Card spot, the Broncos, plays the Chiefs in week 18. While so many things still need to happen for the Colts to have a shot, a Chiefs team fighting for the number one seed was much more appealing than one that will most likely be sitting key players for the majority if not all of the contest.
