A little more clarity on injury statuses for Sunday’s matchup

The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers issued their second injury reports of the week in advance of Sunday afternoon’s matchup. Here they are:

Minnesota Vikings

For the Vikings, things are shaping up where only Fabian Moreau will be out on Sunday for the Packers’ game. Jalen Redmond being upgraded to full participation suggests he’s through the concussion protocol and Ivan Pace Jr. being a full participant in both practices suggests he’ll be activated for the game on Sunday as well. Harrison Smith being upgraded to a full participant also bodes well for his availability on Sunday.

I wouldn’t be surprised if only Moreau has an injury designation for Sunday’s game.

Green Bay Packers

For the Packers, Evan Williams is not expected to play on Sunday.

Packers’ head coach Matt LaFleur was asked if Jaire Alexander was more likely to play this week compared to last week, when he didn’t play, and his answer was, “probably not.” His comments on Alexander injury status were a bit terse as well, all of which suggests he won’t play on Sunday.

LaFleur also commented on Christian Watson, who was listed as a DNP for the second straight practice, as his decision based on how he feels going into gameday. That suggests a questionable designation for Sunday’s game, although LaFleur said he was trending in the right direction.

Quay Walker seems more doubtful for Sunday’s game at the moment. He’s been listed as a DNP for both practices and LaFleur’s comments about him didn’t seem as optimistic. If he can’t go, former Viking Eric Wilson is likely to replace him.

Javon Bullard seems more likely to play on Sunday but could have a questionable designation after being limited in both practices. The two tight ends are likely to play on Sunday despite being limited in practice so far this week.

The Packers’ secondary will be thin if both Alexander and Williams don’t play on Sunday, and even more so if Bullard can’t go as well.

Lastly, backup tackle Andre Dillard showed up on the injury report for the first time this week on Thursday, being evaluated for a concussion, which casts some doubt on his availability on Sunday. And so did starting left guard Elgton Jenkins with a knee injury. He’s been on and off the Packers’ injury report quite a bit so unsure on the severity of the injury at this point- if it’s more precautionary and something he’ll continue to play through or if it’s worse and could keep him out of Sunday’s game- which would be a significant loss. Something to keep an eye on when tomorrow’s final injury report comes out.
