The Detroit Lions released their Week 17 initial injury report and Terrion Arnold missed Thursday’s practice with an illness.

The Detroit Lions (13-2) are headed back to Santa Clara to take on the San Francisco 49ers (6-9) in Week 17 on “Monday Night Football.”

Because the Lions play on Monday this week, their normal schedule is pushed back a day. That means, instead of holding their initial practice on Wednesday, they open the week on Thursday. As a result, Friday will act as the Lions’ second practice and injury designations will be assigned on Saturday.

Let’s take a look at Thursday’s injury report and get you up to date with what we know. Note that any changes from last week’s report will be bolded.

Injured reserve updates

Raymond has opened his 21-day evaluation window and has begun practicing. The Lions appear to be taking it slow with him and are not expecting that he’ll be back this week.

“He’ll start practicing (Thursday),” coach Dan Campbell said. “We’ll see where he is at. I don’t feel as confident with him (returning to the active roster this week), as I do with Germ [Jalen Reeves-Maybin], but it’s good to have him back out practicing, it’ll be good to have him back out there running around.”

Anzalone is also getting closer, but he is still not ready to return to practice—though that time is expected to be soon.

“It’s close. I don’t know about this week, (but) it’s close,” Campbell said.

No practice

Montgomery continues to miss practice, as expected, and the latest reports suggested he could return by the divisional round of the playoffs.

“He now is going to rehab with a realistic goal of being back for the divisional round of the playoffs,” Ian Rapoport said. “So about a month from now for Montgomery.

Arnold popped up on the injury report on Thursday with an illness, which is not uncommon this time of the year. If it’s a simple cold or stomach bug, he would be expected to return in the next day or so, but it’ll be worth keeping an eye on for the remainder of the week.

Limited practice

  • None

Full practice

  • WR Kalif Raymond (hamstring) Injury clock days remaining: 20
  • LG Graham Glasgow (knee) — Did not play in Week 16, upgraded to full practice
  • LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin — Injury clock days remaining: 13

Glasgow missed two practices last week but was able to return to a limited practice at the end of the week. Unfortunately, he was not able to play in the game against the Bears and rookie Christian Mahogany took over (and had a very nice showing). On Monday, Campbell expressed that Glasgow was ready to return to practice and was expected to step back into his starting left guard spot this week.

“Yeah, I see Graham coming back,” Campbell said. “I think he’s going to be ready to roll and he’s going to slip right back at left guard and start for us, he’ll be great.”

Reeves-Maybin has been taking things slowly, but the Lions appear to expect him to return to the active roster this week, and have already opened a roster spot for his potential return.

“We’ll see where Germ (Reeves-Maybin) is at. He’s somebody that’s a potential candidate (to return), Jalen Reeves-Maybin,” Campbell said. “We started him last week, he got a practice or two, we’re going to give him more this week, see how he feels, where it’s at. He is somebody that could potentially be brought up.”

No longer listed on the injury report

  • C Frank Ragnow (back)
  • LB Trevor Nowaske (concussion)
  • S Brian Branch (calf)
  • S Ifeatu Melifonwu (finger)

The players listed in this section no longer require a spot on the injury report.
