NFL Week 17 staff picks: Moneyline, spread, over/under predictions

NFL Week 17 staff picks: Moneyline, spread, over/under predictions

The POD staff make their predictions for the Week 17 slate of games in the NFL.

Hope you’re having a happy holiday season, but the NFL doesn’t care about you or your family or your friends. They want your eyeballs. They want you to get frustrated with your grandparent’s wi-fi as the Netflix red wheel spins and spins, Patrick Mahomes stands frozen mid-drop back. They want to own every nook and cranny of your time away from work. Look, do whatever you want, it’s your life, but who cares about the AFC? Take care of yourselves out there.

Here at Pride of Detroit, our staff have made their picks for not only the games on Christmas, but the entire slate of Week 17 games.

As alluded to earlier, we get a couple of AFC matchups on Christmas afternoon. This is the NFL’s first foray into digital streaming with Netflix, so fingers crossed it isn’t a disaster. Christmas Day kicks off with the Kansas City Chiefs traveling to Pennsylvania to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. ET. After that, at 4:30 p.m. ET, Netflix follows up with an equally intriguing playoff rematch from last year: Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans.

“Thursday Night Football” closes out its season series this week when the Seattle Seahawks take on the Chicago Bears from Soldier Field at 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime Video.

The NFL is serving up a few more games this week on Saturday again, and you can catch all of them on NFL Network. At 1 p.m. ET, the Los Angeles Chargers look to stamp their ticket to the playoffs against the New England Patriots. For all intents and purposes, a pseudo-playoff game between the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals airs at 4:30 p.m. ET. And the finale is an NFC West clash between the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams at 8:00 p.m. ET.

18 teams go back to work with nine games scheduled for Sunday’s Week 17 lineup.

On Sunday afternoon, Michigan viewers can tune in to CBS for a matchup between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills at 1 p.m. ET. FOX will counter with another divisional matchup when the Dallas Cowboys meet the Philadelphia Eagles at 1 p.m. ET.

At 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX has “America’s Game of the Week” between two of the best teams in the NFC: the Minnesota Vikings vs. the Green Bay Packers.

NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” features a game with serious playoff and divisional implications when the Atlanta Falcons take on the Washington Commanders at 8:20 p.m. ET.

ESPN and ABC’s offering of “Monday Night Football” is a chance at an exorcism: The Detroit Lions travel to Santa Clara to take on the San Francisco 49ers, a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship game, at 8:15 p.m. ET.

As we have done in past seasons, our staff will be making weekly predictions for every game on the NFL schedule. Each of the Pride of Detroit staff will pick the moneyline (winner of the game, no spread), but some of the members will also pick against the spread and even the over/under lines—there’s an easy toggle button in the widget below to cycle through the settings. You can also check out all of the odds for this week’s games courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Here is who our staff is picking on the moneyline, spread, and over/under for all 16 games on the NFL Week 17 schedule:
