Other Giant observations
Giants would have options atop NFL draft — no matter who makes the pick | New York Post
There’s a whole lot crammed into 100 years of playing the game. That span means the Giants have been there, done that, time and again, over and over. Everything has passed through their gates. Great triumphs. Abject failure. The winds of change and the stillness of sameness. Championship moments. Despair in the air.
For the first time in a long time – 60 years! – the Giants could be selecting No. 1 in an NFL Draft. Whoever is making that pick will have options, from taking a top quarterback to trading down for stockpile the depth chart.

2025 NFL draft order projections: Patriots, Giants at top | ESPN.com
1. New York Giants (2-13, last week No. 1). Average draft position: 2.0 (last week 2.68). FPI chance to earn No. 1 pick: 55.2% (37.4%). FPI chance to earn top-five pick: 96.0% (88.4% ). FPI chance to earn top-10 pick: 100.0% (99.9%)
2025 NFL Draft: No. 1 NY Giants can decide Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward | The Record
There has been criticism of Daboll and whether he should be the coach who gets to, along with Schoen, make the call on the Giants’ drafting their next quarterback, whether that selection is Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward when the festivities take place in Green Bay next April.
Daboll’s conviction on Daniels should give Giants ownership some level of confidence that he knows how to evaluate the position, regardless of what may have transpired with Jones the past two seasons.
2025 NFL Mock Draft: Raiders trade up to No. 3 for QB | CBSSports.com
1. New York Giants: Cam Ward, QB, Miami. Cam Ward would’ve likely been no better than QB5 in last year’s draft class, but he’s QB1 in 2024. Teams had a late Day 2/Day 3 grade on him over the summer, but he’s made big strides this season; he’s playing more from the pocket, he’s getting the ball out on time and he’s doing a better job of getting through his reads. We know about the athleticism and arm strength, but he’s gotten better each year he’s been in college, too.

Move to Make Now: Play Jalin Hyatt more. While Hyatt has been a disappointment so far, Darius Slayton’s contract is about to expire and the Giants have nothing to play for over the next two weeks. The coaching staff might as well give the 23-year-old receiver more opportunities to see if he can build some confidence heading into next season.
Why your NFL team won, lost in Week 16 | PFF
If your quarterback throws two pick-sixes, chances are you’re probably not going to win the game. The Giants turned the ball over three times against the Falcons, with Drew Lock throwing two pick-sixes and losing a fumble. Lock earned a 38.6 PFF overall grade in the loss, completing just 56.4% of his pass attempts, and his three turnovers set the Falcons on their way.
Giants Add OT Ricky Lee to Practice Squad | SI.com
The New York Giants have signed offensive tackle Ricky Lee to their practice squad. Lee, 6-5 and 289 pounds, played his college ball at North Carolina Central from 2018-2020 and then at North Carolina A&T from 2021-2022. He initially signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent after the 2023 draft and played in six games, mostly on special teams.
Notebook: Giants remain focused on next game | Giants.com
“This is the kind of thing I didn’t think I would have to go through,” tackle Jermaine Eluemunor said. “It’s just kind of find your why and find why you play this game and what motivates you deep down inside. For me, it’s my daughter and my wife and trying to secure their future. So, I’m going out there every single week and just leaving it all on the line. It just sucks. There’s really no other way to say it.”

Giants on brink of worst home season ever, as pressure on Brian Daboll, Joe Schoen mounts | NJ.com
If the Giants lose to the Colts at MetLife Stadium on Sunday — when the building will probably be half full — they’ll clinch their worst ever home season.
The Giants have gone winless at home once — in 1974, when they went 0-7 at the Yale Bowl while they were waiting for old Giants Stadium to be built. The Giants finished that year 2-12. But 0-9 at home — which is what’s on the line Sunday against the Colts — is worse than 0-7.

Via John Ourand of Puck, the Jets’ local viewership is down 29 percent over last year. For the Giants, the drop is 30 percent. The Jets are averaging 578,000 homes in the local market. The Giants are at 523,000 homes.

NFL Power Rankings Week 17: Bills, Chiefs inch up, plus asking a big question of every team | The Athletic
The big question: What to do with Anthony Richardson?
The second-year quarterback rushed for 70 yards but threw only 11 passes Sunday. Maybe that’s the right formula for this team. The Colts’ 38 points were their most this season thanks to Jonathan Taylor’s 218 yards on the ground, but is it sustainable? Richardson, who is in the second year of his rookie deal, is last among qualifying quarterbacks in passer rating (61.6) and completion percentage (47.7 percent) and tied for fourth in interceptions (12) despite being 33rd in attempts (264), according to TruMedia. He doesn’t gain enough on the ground (45.4 per game, third in the league) to make up for that.
NFL Team Needs: Prioritizing Every Roster’s Biggest Weaknesses Before Week 17 | Bleacher Report
Anthony Richardson is dangerously close to Tim Tebow’s record for the lowest completion percentage among qualified passers. The 22-year-old has completed just 47 percent of his passes this season. Scheming him to get some screens and other high-percentage throws so he can at least end the season on a positive note would be good for long-term confidence in the young signal-caller.
Colts sign former Giant G Mark Glowinski to 53-man roster from practice squad | Colts.com
The Indianapolis Colts today signed guard Mark Glowinski to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Glowinski was elevated in Week 13 at New England, Week 15 at Denver and Week 16 vs. Tennessee. He started all three games at right guard.
