As I was starting to type a Festivus Nincompoop of the Week article, it just wasn’t feeling right. This season has been amazing for the Vikings. Many of us didn’t expect anything nearly this good. It seems the team (Kwesi) started everything off right by letting go of Kirk and extending the face of the franchise, Justin Jefferson. They brought in the right guys that fit in Kevin O’Connell’s system. Flores has continued to develop his defense and the influx of talent sure did help. Sam Darnold is making the most of his opportunities. He leads all starters in multiple air-yard metrics. This isn’t a dump off merchant at all. Rookie Will Reichard has been better than advertised, not counting the injury.
So, what more could we ask for? Our favorite team is in prime position for the 1 seed with games against the Packers and Lions standing in their way. There are two things I ask for. The first I ask for all teams, but especially the Vikings. Please let this team stay healthy so we can really see who they are. I believe that will lead to my 2nd wish. 5 more wins. 5 more wins to finish with 13 in a row and the Super Bowl trophy.
You can’t win the Super Bowl before Christmas. You can’t even be healthy for the playoffs yet. So, we can’t ask Santa for anything more than what we’ve already received. Enjoy the holidays and spend some time with your families. Hoping for some Viking victories to make it that much better.
