Can the Packers stay in control of the 5-seed in the NFC Playoff Picture
The Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints will wrap up the NFL Week 16 slate. There aren’t a lot of playoff implications with this one, but the Packers will be looking to stay ahead of the Commanders in the NFC playoff picture while the Saints try to play the role of spoiler as the Dallas Cowboys did on Sunday Night.
Jordan Love and the Packers have seemed to catch their stride as of late as the only team they’ve lost to since October has been the Detroit Lions. The Packers defense has found its identity as Love and the Packers offense has remained efficient. Josh Jacobs has been leading the Packers run game. Jacobs has officially hit the 1,000 yard mark in his first season in Green Bay.
On the other end, the Saints are just looking to get to the end of the season. To prepare for the cold in Green Bay this week, the Saints quarterbacks did drills inside the facility freezers. However, Derek Carr won’t be playing the Saints will be relying on rookie Spencer Rattler under center.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Packers are whopping 14.5-point favorites at home against the Saints. While that is a big line, the last three Packers wins have come by an average of 19 points. Playing at home against a Saints team that has lost by double-digits in three out of four of Rattler’s starts. I’ll take the Packers to win and cover the big spread.
The Pick: Packers (-14.5)
Season Record: 22-25
