Lions Week 16 inactives: Graham Glasgow OUT vs. Bears

Lions Week 16 inactives: Graham Glasgow OUT vs. Bears

The Detroit Lions have released their inactives ahead of their Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears. Who’s in, and who’s out?

The Detroit Lions (12-2) have declared their inactives ahead of the Week 16 matchup with division rival Chicago Bears (4-10). The Lions knew they would be without starting running back David Montgomery, but they will also be without starting left guard Graham Glasgow, who was unable to be cleared following a knee injury suffered last week.

At this time, it’s not entirely clear who will replace Glasgow in the starting lineup, as coach Dan Campbell suggested he was comfortable relying on rookie Christian Mahogany or veteran Kayode Awosika.

“Yeah, comfortable (with Mahogany playing at left guard),” Campbell explained. “I would say we’re working he and (Awosika) Yode on both of those and working both sides, and (Michael) Niese has worked a little bit of right guard for us, too. But those two we’re really comfortable with.”

There’s been a lot of roster movement this week and it feels like the Lions are adjusting on the fly. After placing three defenders (Alim McNeill, Carlton Davis, and Khalil Dorsey) on injured reserve, the Lions also cut two players (Maurice Alexander and Brandon Joseph), returned one from injured reserve (Ifeatu Melifonwu), signed three from their practice squad (Chris Smith, Mitchell Agude, and Tom Kennedy) and another off the Jaguars practice squad (Anthony Pittman). They also elevated two players from the practice squad (Loren Strickland and Jermar Jefferson) for this game, bringing their roster total up to 55 players.

If you missed moves, or need a refresher, make sure and check out our updated depth chart, with position-by-position rankings as well as a visual overview.

For this week’s game, because the Lions have eight offensive linemen active for Sunday’s game, they are eligible to expand their game-day roster from 47 to 48 players. Therefore, with 55 players on the game-day roster and 48 eligible to play, the Lions need to declare just seven players inactive for today’s matchup.

Lions inactives:

  • RB David Montgomery (knee) — Ruled OUT Friday
  • OL Graham Glasgow (knee)
  • OL Colby Sorsdal
  • OL Giovanni Manu
  • DL Brodric Martin
  • DL Jonah Williams
  • LB Kwon Alexander

Bears inactives:

  • RB Travis Homer (hamstring)
  • OL Doug Kramer (shoulder)
  • OL Kiran Amegadjie
  • LB Noah Sewell
  • DL Gervon Dexter
  • DB Ameer Speed
